Could someone please explain how dash, head, and tail lights are related to a faulty neutral safety switch? I know my switch is old and needs to be replaced a.s.a.p., but the interesting thing is how it is instigated into acting up. By turning the headlights on into position 3 the car goes into "safe mode" and all lights go out! (Head, tail, and dash!) After driving a while they all magicly come back on, or I can simply choose to drive home with just the parking lights and the switch in position 2 with everything on except headlights. Will fix switch this weekend, just want opinions on how this problem and it's trigger are related! Thanx in advance!
I know if you look in some small towns you might find someone one that can help you like spring Texas or Tomball Texas. That charges less. Some times going to a dealer is not the best idea or they ring your rear.
It just a idea.
Oh How is Texas at this time of year. I was there before Horseshoe bay was flooded.
Hey Atol, thanx for the suggestion of seeking out repairs just outside of the city limits. I never thought of that. I guess before doing that I just want to know if anyone can comment on if a faulty neutral safety switch can also contribute to the head, tail, and dash lights going out as well as stated above. I don't want to replace the switch and find out it was a wiring problem to begin with! Thanx in advance! P.S. The weather down here is great today, sunny and 72 !
Hey earthworm thanks a million! This just may be something I can tackle with my Dad this weekend. Would you know if by "fixing" the switch or otherwise replacing it, will this put an end to my head and tail lights going out as well? Is the switch some how related to both the transmission, as well as the lights?
