I've seen cars in yards in apparently much better condition than cars on the street - but, of, there is one or more things wrong - bad differential, locked engine, excessive rust, or just an unsolvable electronics problem...
Since I have not been here in a while, here is an update: the passenger side fog light is gone. The driver's side is still there but I still do not know how to take it out. I spent too much time trying to guesswork that it is time to get some help/enlightement. :cheesy: I did take the SID out but they want $25 for it; they are charging it as a digital cluster.
Also, how to take the door handles out? I took the door pannel out of the right front door (can show pictures), and removed the rod that goes to the latch, but it still does not want to walk out. And, how about the pannel between the tailights?
Do let me know so I can go there tomorrow and spend the entire morning in that car
Thanks for posting this...very kind of you.
I'm wanting both headlamp assemblies (the whole enchilada) and the right front marker/directional assembly.
I am still clueless myself. Here is where I am at:
I assume you have to pop it from the bottom (right front handle in this picture) but I seem to be having issues with the side closer to the lock cylinder. I believe there is a rod that goes from the cylinder down to the lock itself,
But I have not figure out how to take it out yet.
About the SID, it actually has 3 buttons. Two that seem to be for the SID itself and a third one called "black pannel" or something like that.

I'll try to yank them for you next time the yard is opened. I learned from experience that they do not crush the oldest row first. I lost the opportunity to get a few parts because of that. :x

I need a panel(air shield, LS), some clips(headlight) and some covers(wiper arm mounting nut)
cost at the dealer $20 or so, at the yard $5..
The air shield is probably $50 at the dealer, and I bet they never sell any..
I took the side markers ($8/each) from that car. When I yanked one of the headlights ($25), I noticed the silver coating in the reflector was gone, leaving a yellow plastic looking surface behind it. If you want them I will yank them, but I would ask how bad are yours. Unless you have the means of recoating the reflector I personally do not think they worth it.
I am in need of the passenger front headlight assembly, I just actually need the internal adjusters and springs and such, as mine are broke allowing the adjustment to move everytime I shift. I would not ned the reflector material. How much do you think it might cost?Craig
Do you think they are easily separated from the reflector? If so I may try to get it today (I am rather sick but it is not raining today) after I take care of laundry. Otherwise, the entire assembly is $25.
can i get the 3rd brakelight cover from you? The one of the trunklid. It needs to be intact, without any of the tabs missing. Also, if the rear saab emblem is in good shape, I'd like that as well. You can PM me, or email me at corey_riley@hotmail.com - whichever.
yeah they should be easily seperated, there are metal clipps that hold the lens cover on to the reflector, then inside all the piesces should just snap apart. They went together, I am sure they will come apart. Let me know Craig.
* only go if you feel like you can...if you are sick I don't want to make you any worse. I can wait for these pieces its been broke for a little while and alittle more isn't gonna hurt*
what suspension update? I have a 95 also. Is there a problem with the suspension I should know about?? I was going to lower it this spring, know of any good lowering kits for a 95 900s n/a? Was also going to fit it with 17' viggen wheels, would this cause any issues after being lowered?
Our older models came with an inferior design compared to the '96 and later cars. Here's a pic from GS with the differences.
The stanchion or curved arms, control arms, and the ARB will all need to be replaced.
Edit: GS does sell a kit but I'm trying to do it on the cheap with used parts. I haven't had much luck so far so I might just buy the kit and be done with it.
I need a couple of small parts. There is a little cover on the passenger side door panel that plugs up the hole for a trunk release switch; and I also need the cover for the windshield wiper bolt. Any chance you could get those on your next trip? Please let me know how much including postage to Vancouver BC. Thanks.
