Mom's car - Intermittant heat: heater/AC controls all seem to work; blows hot air at times; can turn off car, restart after some rest no hot air...she reports driving 10 or more miles with no heat...temp guage at normal.
thermostat or other problem? What to look for...

repaired...pics and description will follow...
code 0; fan blower not working; fuse interior fan ok...ideas? Update: while drivng for 20 minutes the fan suddenly came on high...after stopping and restarting car...no fan.

Your heater fan is not running, likely due to the brushes being worn. Check the FAQ's for a link to DIP's how to. I just took out the brushes cleaned them up and reinstalled them with a different routing for the brush leads. This should be good for a year or so. Eventually you will need to replace the brushes or the complete fan. No, SAAB doesn't sell brushes. You have to scrounge them from an alternator/starter shop.
