But I can't believe we just beat the Aussies! Now all we have to do is beat NZ in the semis and SA in the final. Still well done England!

He was also a liar then. The first World Cup wasn't until 1987 ;)

tee hee....

Oh, so you mean the one with the slow, pudgy guys grabbing each other, clawing at each other's genitals, then stopping every so often to lock arms and sniff each other's pits...;)

seriously though...as a fan of both forms, congrats to England and France...beating Oz and the All Blacks was a huge deal for each squad...

Yes we've spent a fantastic evening yesterday !
It's so cool to see Europeans teams beating the favorites .

Good luck to Scotland and I hope they will create a surprise too .

The next match between England and France will be a great moment of Rugby .
But I think that England will beat France .

An excess of trust will make the french weaker as usual

My thoughts.

1. Nice to see the Aussies cry.
2. Even better to beat the French in their own backyard.
3. As World Cup finalists, this does not mean that English Rugby Union, and Twickenham, does not need a massive shaking down, from top to bottom, IMHO, thereafter.
4. Nevertheless, 'Come on England!'.

For anyone who's never heard of Rugby :o

1. It's vaguely similar to American Football, with out all the fashion accessory armour and headguards.
2. None of the stop start nonsense, and changing of offense/defense.
3. You need leather balls.
4. This is probably the greatest try of all time.

Does the selection of Barbarians still play ?

I will support England for the final fight but I think it's hopeless for them

Hmm, thoroughly dissapointed with the refereeing for that match. Nice to see we weren't whitewashed like the group match, but I can' help but think we could have won with the try being properly called, and how many times did SA get away with what should have been penalties?

Sad to lose because of that.

jjonju
21-10-07, 03:38 AM
Yes it does leave a sour taste. I could see nothing wrong with the 'try' I think I would rather we had been thrashed 36-0 than lose on a couple of dubious decisions.

Chris 9-5

I watched with anticipation and was sad to see the points gifted through penalty giving - sticking out a boot to trip an opponent is a Beckham trick not one for top class rugby.

Its a shame, but on the night I think the South Africans were a better team.

After a period of lows at least we have a platform to build on now :p

Root and branch rebuild Twickenham now needed, structure and organisation.

Well played England, under the circumstances. Proud of you, lads!

Yes, I saw the try and reran the video several times from all angles. It was good!

No comment about the nationality of the "official" who viewed and made the decision.

Regrets yes, but as some idiot once said " it's only a game" :cheesy:

Bad luck, Pommies. What a diabolical result.

You know, there are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures...

... and South Africans.

Cueto's left foot was clearly in touch. It wisnae a try and, as a neutral, I thought the referee had an excellent game. England's discipline was poor.

They did fantastically to get to the final and the South African's were just a wee bit better on the night. All in all it was a fantastic World Cup.

Froggies ?

Soory for brits , I've seen the 20 last minutes and the south Africa team was like a wall . There was nothing to do .

Now the six nations are coming and we'll see what happen .
The french team is depressed .
