Hello all. I have a 9-3 Aero and frequently post in that forum; however, the dealer just provided me a 2007 9-7x as a loaner that I'll have for the next week. But they took the owner's manual out so I cannot find out if it has AWD - do all of them have it? I really want to know since I plan to take it on the beach - AWD will assure me of not getting stuck down here!

yes all models are awd models, don't need to turn any dials to change anything just drive, it'll do everything else, i believe it is a 85 rear 15 front split but will apportion up to 90% to either axle as needed...

i do notice in winter time tho, if you need the awd to kick in DO NOT let go of the gas, stay on the gas and it'll keep apportioning itself as needed

Thanks all and I will report back as to how well it performs in the sand. At least they activated the OnStar in case I get stuck!

By the way, I received a low tire pressure alert and upon checking the tires when cold they were all at 26psi (as compared to the 32psi on the door sill tag). One would think the dealer would have checked it before putting it in the loaner pool albeit it only had 71 miles when I got it - they must have assumed all was well.

I took it on the beach (here in FL) and it performed well in the sand albeit it was pretty hard packed sand. It had rained a bit so I did not want to get into the looser stuff but did at the ramps - no problems and traction was good.
