View Full Version : a question of brake ballance
just a theory i would like to through out there, but a couple of years back i replaces my stock front brake discs and calipers with viggen parts, a common thing to do you would all agree ? well I've been thinking about this lately, not really sure why but if one puts bigger brakes on the front and leaves the back untouched does this affect the brake balance bringing the bias more to the front resulting in a greater risk of front wheel lock up ?
any thoughts ????

I have after market slotted rotors in the front which definately garb harder, ans I've yet to have an issue.

PhilipHS feels that GT3 Calipers up front and 9-5 Aero rears makes for a good balance.
I also suspect that on lowered cars, since the rear is lowered a bit more than the front, everything is thrown out the window it terms of weight, and brake balance. For a proper set up, I think the rotors would need to be temped under hard stopping untill a known ratio or even temp on front and rears was achieved.
