1995 Saab 900 SE covertible is leaking fuel when topped up, gets down to 3/4 of a tank then stops. A previous post of this problem suggested fuel filler hose; replaced it (there WAS a crack in it, but it didn/t go all the way through) but problem is still there. Before I go looking for a hoist to have another look does anyone have any ideas? Could it be the breather hose leaking?

I would pressurize the tank and listen for a hiss.
A breather hose ?
TTBOMK, the system is sealed, due to all emissions being very stringently controlled..
Maybe this "topping off" has something to do with this ..
The Haynes manual, in the process outlining removal of the tank, indicates "... disconnect the filler neck hose from the tank. Also disconnect the breather hose." so I am hoping that might be the problem.

Sorry to jump in snoop but where is the breather hose?
Once I get the car up on a hoist and have a look I will let you know!

The breather hose, 20 to 30 mm ID, I'd guess , connects the neck to a nipple on the middle portion of the tank.
I have no part number, they probably last forever. If someone removed the neck, maybe they forgot to tighten all the clamps..:cheesy:
Also note that the fuel cap has part number for a gasket and sealing collar..
Also, I see a little hose and a pressure sensor, for 1996>
