What a bunch of bells ends! The idiotic few spoil the whole event for everyone else.

My thoughts exactly

Why canít the numb nuts stick to safe driving? Its ment to be fun! Not a mad dash! Ok some sections my allow for spirited driving. But only in safe conditions Autobahn speed limits in some places are unlimited. So wait for that section if you want to drive like a nutter.

But rule number 1 do not endanger other road users

rant rant rant !!!!!!!!!!

Hi C02pilot

apparantly 1 team was racing down the hard sholder on the motorway in Germany doing 260K the German police are saying that they were all racing, sevreal cars where impounded. its all gone a little pete tong. so the organisers have cancelled the event. there is more info on the UK saab forum. who was one of the teams sponsers. its a real shame cuze this type of event was open to normal people. not just the rich.

if the teams had been a little more resposable it would have been good for the average motorist. also i was pleased that 2 Saabs where in it. if i get any more reliable info ill post it

I was captain of one of the teams, Team Saab Club.

We were fined Ä175, told to remove the stickers from our car and the event was cancelled. The German police escorted us to the German/Belgian border and left us there. Most teams continued with the event although now 'unofficially'. We avoided Germany completely but some ventured back through Germany.

We were being tracked live via satellite and below is a map of our journey.

People crash all the time but in a race or rally everybody gets tared with the same brush, shame really.
