Once in a while i smell a rotten egg smell, which I know is prob the cat converter, but since it is not all the time is my cat pretty much done or on its way? Also can a bad cat cause the car to stall at idle. I know performance wise a clogged/rotted cat will cause the car to run bad.

Yes it can cause the car to die at idle and when pushing the gas from a stop. And feels like it has no pull power plus low miles per gallon.
The smell is an indication. They don't always get the smell. They can get clogged and not smell.
Some times debris from the down pipe and manifold get lose and lodge in the cat.
