Saab Automobile sold 13,128 cars during April. That is 1,600 more cars than the previous year. The total for the first four months of the year is 45,041 cars sold.

In Sweden 2,902 Saab cars were sold during April, which is better by over 500 cars than in April 2002. In the USA Saab hit a new sales record with the best month ever with 4,958 cars sold. That is an increase of 45 percent compared with April 2002.

“So far this year we are on course with our plan to sell 135,000 –140,000 cars during the year”, says Hans Karlander, responsible for Global Sales Management at Saab Automobile AB. “We have very positive sales development of the new Saab 9-3 in particular, in the USA, Sweden and Italy.”

In Sweden the Saab 9-5 also continues to sell well and the total market share in April increased to a full 12.8 percent in a slightly falling market.

“However, it is slightly worse in the rest of Europe where the consumer spending index has fallen”, says Hans Karlander.
