I have read several threads on the K & N. It appears some have had probelms and some have not. I'm confused to why a parts mfg would sell a filter that was not compatible. I would like to poll to see who has a 2004 9.3 2.0t with a K & N that has or has not worked.
This is the forum for the older generation 9-3 from 1999-2002 and 2003 convertible as well as the NG 900 from 1994 (except 1994 convertibe)-1998 :cheesy:
You won't have a problem with a K&N as such, just:-
No improvement in performance.
An engine that will wear out quicker due to ingress of dirt.
More intake noise with the airbox removal types. Panel filter types make no change in noise.
It'll look cool to some people.
I hate them
If you had a kit car with twin Webers and open bellmouths, then yes K&N definitely an improvement. On a road car with an efficient airbox and filter that you want to last and clock lots of miles before it wears out - forget it!
