| | The headlamps are rectangular and the lenses blend into the lines of the body. The design ensures improved light distribution, particularly on the dipped beam, and reduces risk of damage in the event of a collision. The aerodynamics are also improved. | | | | The direction indicator lights are of wrap- The rear light clusters are also of wrap-around around design, for maximum visibility over a large distance. | The rear light clusters are also of wrap-around design. | | | The extended dipped beam is a valuable feature. It increases visibility along the near-side edge of the road by about 50% compared with a conventional dipped beam. | |
Lighting The large, front sidelight fittings are of wrap-around design, so that they will be clearly visible from the side. Due to their high location, they are less liable to fouling by road dirt. The large direction indicator lights are at the top, with the parking lights below them. The visibility sector is very large, and the locations of the direction indicators make them clearly visible to drivers of tall vehicles, such as buses and trucks. A side direction indicator is also provided on each wing, between the wheel arch and the door. This contributes further to road safety, particularly on multi-lane roads. The rear light clusters are designed so that they will be clearly visible to other road users, even diagonally from the side. The rear lights are duplicated on both sides, for extra reliability and road safety. The rear fog lights - high-intensity rear lights-are fitted as standard on all 900 models. A separate switch is provided on the facia for controlling the rear fog lights.
