The mirror on the driver's side is of a wide-angled type. Most of the mirror glass is flat, but the outer section is slightly convex. The boundary between the two areas is marked with a line etched on the glass. This design enables the driver to follow an overtaking vehicle in the mirror, right up to the point where his indirect vision can take over. | | | | The outer rear view mirrors are adjustable from the inside. The mirror on the driver's side is of wide angle type, which eliminated the "blind spot" and makes it easier to detect overtaking vehicles. | 1. Angle of vision provided by an ordinary rear view mirror. 2. Angle of vision provided by Saab's wide angle mirror. 3. When an overtaking vehicle reaches this point, the driver can see it through the corner of his eye and through the rear view mirror. | The centre console includes all starting controls- ignition switch, handbrake lever and gear lever.
Starting controls
All starting controls, including the ignition switch, choke and gear lever, are located on the centre console between the front seats. The hand-brake lever must be close at hand, but must not cause injury in the event of an accident. Since it should be accessible to the co-driver in an emergency, it is also located between the front seats. | |
