Comfort and safety

Wide doors with low, recessed sills:
- Easy to get in and out of the car.
- The sill is always free from road dirt and will not soil clothing.
- Central locking (certain models).

Interior lighting:
- Switched on automatically when the side doors are opened.
- A non-dazzling map-reading lamp behind the inner rear mirror.
- Lighting at the ignition switch.

Radio/cassette player can be ac commodated in a special compartment:
- All models include provision for fitting stereo speakers at the front and rear- speaker locations provide an excellent stereo effect.
- The car is prewired at the factory for the speakers and aerial.
- Front speakers (certain models).

Careful insulation of the body:
- Maximum absorption of road noise and engine sound.

The more powerful models are equipped with hydraulic engine mountings:
- Attenuates vibrations very efféc lively.
- Lower the sound level in the car.

A high-efficient servo-controlled
ventilation system:

-13 vacuum-controlled dampers

distributing well-tempered, clean air.
- Maximum fan speed gives 100 litres of clean, fresh air every second.

The ventilation air filter:
- Substances larger then 0.005 mm are trapped by the filter.
- Reduces road dust and protects against greasy film on the insides of the windows.
- Eliminates 100% of all pollen.
- A great benefit to those who suffér from allergies.

The 900 safety body:
- Front and rear have carefully designed crumple zones to absorb collision energy as effectively as possible.
- The unitary body is light but ex tremely strong.
- Sturdy reinforcing members are welded into the doors.
- All materials used in the interior are fire-resistant or self-extinguishing.
- Bonnet incorporating buckling zone in the centre and special arrester in the rear to prevent the bonnet from being forced through the windscreen in a collision. In the event of a head-on collision, the engine will be forced backwards and downwards, and will be arrested by the sturdy bulkhead.

Among the world's safest steering columns:
- Gradually collapsible steering column.
- An energy-absorbing steel cage below the steering wheel.
- A large steering wheel centre pad designed to arrest the drivers head.

Front seats with strong frame; protective plate in the backrest; strong mountings:
- Can withstand high stresses in a collision.
- Prevents injuries to the occupant's neck vertebrae.

Heavy padding of the interior:
- Impact-absorbing padding throughout.
- Absence of sharp edges and corners at the rear of the front seats.

Roof lining of moulded glass fibre:
Impact-absorbing lining.
- Sound and heat insulating.

Safe, well-protected location for the fuel tank:
- The safest position-between the rear wheels.
- Reduced risk of leakage in the event of rear - or side-on collisions.
